Bahrain: Go away Tunisia, We are supporting Saudis
Source: Arriyadah, June 3rd
The Bahrain Football Federation denied the request from the Tunisians to play a friendly game between the two nations this coming Saturday. It is expected that Tunisians wants to play the Bahrainis, as they are similar to the Saudis in terms of strength. The Tunisian Football federation was willing to pay money, in addition to plane ticket and housing to convince them of accepting the request. On the other hand, the President of Bahrain Football Federation said:
Its impossible to accept this request, as we didn’t give ourselves time to think about whether to accept or to reject, because the real topic is Saudi Football team. Our heart is with the Saudi team in their world mission, which is representative of the Middle East and we will stand by them.

I think thats just poor spirit, if Tunisia needs a similar team to Saudi Arabia to practice against, they should be able to. Every team does it, that is the point of the friendlies. Look at who the Saudi’s have played. They picked Togo to practice for Tunisia. Portugal to practice for Spain. Poloand and Czechs are neighbors of Ukraine and Turkey is Ukraine’s neighbor across the Sea.

Poor sportsmanship indeed. The world cup is when nations of the world unite and enjoy the spirit once every 4 years. Bahrain showed that they will deny the north Africans the chance to practice in favor of their neigbors SA. I am sure as soon as SA are knocked out of the tournament they will start shouting Tunisias name in the spirit of pan Arabian unity. At the end of the day everyone knows it’s hypochricy and usless slogans. Now is the time when Tunisia needed you. Bad spirit as Andriy pointed out.

Correction: Tunisisa wanted to play bahrein because of the similarity in weaknesses not in strenght with Saudis. And I am sorry but even 1 million “inchallah” won’t help you. Sport is not based on prayer and bad attitude but on hard work , talent and repect.
I have read many blogs of different counties, most of them are full of interesting info, analysis, and even joyful spirit ,never have I come accross such poor spirit and bitterness as when I read the Saudi blog. I am well aware of how behind the arab world is but did not think it affected the domain of sport too.Perhaps your attitude stems from different levels of frustrations typical in repressive societies. Tunisia is a an icon in the Arab world and among developping counties and all is built on man power not oil resources.
You all need to grow up , and join the rest of us who are at least trying to get out of the dark ages…
Anyway I hope you don’t loose god knows what..hmmm say 8-0 to Spain.

I am not shocked at all, but amused, by your not childlike but rather primitive coments.do you know that in Tunisia even thought we are well a head of your petrol infested region in terms of sports and football in particular. And may other things to. We don’t think hooligans like you have portrayed in your comets. And I only hope and pray to (Allah swtl) that all Saudis are not of your Kind, that is if you are a real Saudi. Because I believe you have people in that region hoom are not included in the Saudi system, and you call them (BIDOON) ONLY in the jahiliya times that such things have existed, not today’s world between so called Muslim.
Good look I hope you will revise your lack of good spirit and learn how to behave in civilized environment.
And lets enjoy the world cup, let me reassure you that when Saudi plays against Ukraine Spain the Tunisians will be supporting their brothers and not to please you or any ignorant football supporter but because it is a religious duty before all.
