Farewell
This is it. The team is going to leave Saudi Arabia and will return only after completing all the games in Germany. For a month or more, they will be in a mission of showing what they can do in the World Cup in Germany. It needed a farewell that required much support from the public and the media. I mean this is the last time they would see their nation and supporters before the start of the World Cup.
But sadly due to some confusion, media and few spectators went to the wrong terminal to bid farewell to the team. Once they discovered their mistake, it was already too late as the private plane of the national team took off Jeddah airport for Vienna, Austria.
All of the 23 players were present along with Mustafa Maleaka and Mohammed Eid who are additional substitutes in case any of the players suffer an injury.
I think if we had big turnout to give farewell to the team, it would be such positive impact on the players. I don’t know what the players think of us now – probably they are saying “we suck! No one came to say “good luck” to us”
