First Win, failed to satisfy Paqueta
Saudi Arabia’s first win under the Brazilian Coach Paqueta failed to satisfy the coach. In a game played in Sanaa, Yemen, the Saudis experienced a tough game against a team far less experienced than themselves. The Yemenis had possession of the ball for a large portion of the first half. Even so, the Saudis were able to break through the defense and leave first half with one goal. Only were they able to strike again in the last 15 minutes of the second half.
Paqueta said after the game “To be honest, the Saudi team didn’t perform in the way that I was looking for in the first period.”
Paqueta reacted well to the game’s result. By congratulating the players, he would send a wrong message to the players: ” you have reached the best level”. He wants players to work harder, as they will face Portugal in Germany which will be one of true test of the Saudi players.
