Peseiro in Saudi critique
José Vítor dos Santos Peseiro the Portuguese who is now leading the Saudi National Team (head couch) towards South Africa 2010 has been criticized by some sport writers in Saudi Arabia whereas the majority think it is time to celebrate two crucial victories and six points in group 2 of the Asian Qualifying Matches.
Despite winning two games against Iran in Tehran 2-1 and UAE in Riyadh 3-2 Saudi supporters might well agree on these few important points:
• We still suffer in defense accepting easy goals from opponents.
• Three players had proven to be ineffective (Nami, right back no. 5 due to being fresh starter with no international caps, Saheb Al Abdullah, defense midfielder no. 14 he’s been away from his best form even with his club, in addition to Nasser Al Shamrani, forward no. 7 although he’s the top scorer of the national league but obviously he’s unable to prove himself on the international level)
Peseiro must work on the followings:
• Invite Khaled Aziz who is the top defense midfielder in Saudi Arabia to replace Saheb Al Abdullah or find a suitable replacement.
• Replace Nasser Al Shamrani with Hassan Al Raheb.
• Replace Nami with either Abdullah Shuhail or Hassan Muath both players had more international caps also play attacking football and scored in some previous matches.
One of the comments that I had lately saw was from a Portuguese who said that Peseiro is great in attacking game but fails significantly in defense as he did with FC Sporting Lisbon.
We welcome your views on above topics for an open discussion.

Get his name right, it’s Nasser Al-Shamrani.
And why do you think Nami and Saheb Abdullahare in the squad? It’s because Shuhail and Aziz were injured/suspended during those two matches!
Also, are you the same Fulanito on bigsoccer.com?

Hi Mohamed S.
many thanks for your correction, yes his name is Nasser Alshamrani. However I doubt that Saheb and Nami were fixed replacing Shuhail and Aziz for those reasons you’ve mentioned.
Aziz’s case is so mysterious since he was sent back home from GCC tournament, press said that he’s injured but he played for his club in consecutive games! And he was not suspended in these two matches.
Shuhail was ready but never been used by Peseiro, was Nami doing better? I doubt that too and I am sure that you do agree with me this point.
