Muhammad Al Deayea is the world’s most-capped international player, with 180 games under his name. With Mabrouk Zaid injured, Paqueta had no choice but to restore the legendary player. His penalty shoot-out heroics won the 1996 Asian Cup for Saudi Arabia.
His performances effectively won the title for the ‘Sons of the Desert’ and he demonstrated his huge importance to the side. He has twice been named in the Asian Team of the Year and was also shortlisted for the 1996 Asian Player of the Year award.
Another of the Al-Hilal contingent in the team, Al-Deayea’s strong point is his shot-stopping, but he has also improved on his crosses and has built up an understanding with his defenders. He is also strong and agile.
So far, Muhammad Al Deayea have been in the last three World Cups, with losing face in the last World Cup again Germany, where his goal succumbed 8 goals.
In a recent poll, Muhammad Al Deayea recieved the highest popularity as a goal-keeper among Saudis, with Mabrouk Zaid falling behind in third place.

My history is a bit fuzzy. Is this great goalkeeper the one who let in 8 goals against Germany in 2002? Maybe it was another goalkeeper, I donno. Maybe it wasn’t a goalkeeper at all, a field player put in goals by mistake.
