Trophy journey ends in Saudi
Saudi Arabia is not only expected to be last in the World Cup 2006, but also get to be last in getting a visit from the World Cup 2006 Trophy.

hmmm… I took it as that’s where the cup will end one day. I feel curious to ask… are you a true saudi fan, shahed?
I haven’t been regular to the site anymore but nothing has changed anyway. Most of you guys are sounding like saudi bashers. This blog sounds like a saudi bashing blog, not a fan blog, to me.
Criticism is good. There were times I saw some good ones. Most of the comments (not all of Shahed’s though) were just plain mockery of the team.
With love for the team!

Saeed,
What does it take to be a true saudi fan? Do you just love them to the point you ignore what people (the rest of the world) believe of the team?
You have to be in middle. You can’t be biased! Since, childhood I supported the saudi team, along with Ittihad, but have not taken any criticism seriously at all. This is what happens in Saudi - when the Saudi team wins, its all great and no one is criticized but when they lose the whole world collapses -media questions, coach is questions - basically everyone.
Let me get this straight first! When I said “Saudi Arabia is not only expected to be last in the World Cup 2006, but also get to be last in getting a visit from the World Cup 2006 Trophy” The first part, I indicated what people expect of the Saudi team ( which i don’t agree at all and have mentioned earlier in my previous entries. The second part is just the situation. I found it wierd for the World Cup trophy to end’s world tour in Saudi. I haven’t even indicated what you assumed i mentioned “where the cup will end one day” By the way, check the yahoo article - interesting but that’s outside’s view of the team.
One more thing, not everything i say is my thoughts! I think i will make sure i distinguish it next time i post something.

I think Shahed is right… and there’s nothing wrong even if one chooses to criticize his/her team… it’s better to be realistic about our chances now than to cry later… our team performed well in 1994 when our chances were rated as 1 out of 500 behind south korea as 1/250 as compared to our co-groupers Netherlands whose chances were probably rated at 7/3…
