Yeah, I too am disappointed. They had the opportunity to grab 3 points from the game, and they should have used their brains a bit more during the last two minutes. I mean, the defenders were just standing there, and at least the goalkeeper should have punched the ball away instead of allowing Tunisia score the second goal.

With that said, the next two matches will be tough, nonetheless, for the Saudi team. They really spilled the chance to kill of Ukraine this time. I was hoping the coach to have played Sami with Yassir, or at least had made the substitution earlier. I used to live in Saudi Arabia since I was a child, and my heart literally popped out when Sami Al-Jabir scored the second goal. Good luck, though.

I felt like thrashing about, really!

Even last time it was the goal keeper’s fault :-(
They need to impove that.

Inshallah, the next match will be better.

I knew the Saoudi team was competitive, I think it was a big mistake to get boo Azizi out, the midfield was then taken over. I do not mean this in a bad way but I feel as though Tunisia did not or could not play at its best value while the Saoudis gave it all.
Now the real work is starting.
what is up, with ukraine, or is Spain really that good?

the first half the saudi players were almost dead in the field but they started to heat up in the second half but that didn’t satisfy me they still have to take it seriously

they are not called the hawk for nothing :)

Well, good point about Ukraine is that their defence who’s start up got a red card.
I really hope Dokhi marks his place right. Moh’d Ameen is an excellent player but only perfect playing the last 20 minutes.
I want to see Al-Shalhoub instead of Nawwaf starting next match. Additionally, Malik Mouath is pretty good, got the pace and good passes.
Sulaimani proved to be a good left back, really blocked good attacks for Tunisia.
I say, winning Ukraine is still possible Inshalla. I really hope that Piqueta fix up the mistakes made by defence, they need extra excersise on control. Moreover, the defence really take their time on counter attacks, they need to be quick n just deliver it to midfield. Long passes are rarely accurate and exhaust Yasser.
Goodluck to them all, and inshalla they’ll make us proud.

I am fairly happy with the result. I cant forget the look on sami’s face when he scored the second goal, it was truly a historical moment for saudi arabia.

For the first time ever in 12 years, the saudi’s had the upper hand and could even have won the match. Please reply with your comments. Thank you.

Good luck for the Ukraine match!

Uh what can I say my friends. A truly heart breaking result! Forget about what others said… I saw the game 3 freaking times! I suggest you guys do the same, if you are skeptical. First half was ok. Both teams looked nervous. 2nd half was a classy performance compared to other asian teams. Couple things they need to do.

1)Keep the momentum (confidence and speed) and
2)show more zeal!

They will be fun to watch! Nawaf Temayat disappointed me. Sulaimani, Noor, Sami, Yassir and Montashari were awesome. At the end during the injury time, they let the guard down! Remember ‘94. Players were flying everywhere and came from no where when the ball was in the pitch. They were just obsessed with the ball and focus on the winning. That’s what they should do in the next two games. There shouldn’t be any respect (football lingo meaning fear) for the next two teams. I watched all games and I think they deserve to be in the last sixteen, at least. 2 goals were just spectacular world class goals!

Also they need to practice the free kick more and be more vigil at the back. Celebration was unique and too good! Don’t worry about the stupid bashers!

Oh Allah, guide the team to the victory so the world can see the cheerful people waving the flag with the scriptures of the most true saying!

Ameen!

As a Tunisian, I have to admit that Saudis showed a much classier display of football than Tunisia. Both goals were atwork (helped by some stupidity from the Tunisian defense), compared to the Tunisian goals, which were just good timing. Fortunately Tunisia equalized. The game against Spain will be a challenge for both teams, seeing the way they played against Ukraine. Good luck to all!

Assalam,

I am a Saudi Arabia fan living in India… yeah , like some of the guys around , lived in Saudi for quite a good period.
What a cracker of a match it was!
though the ’sons of the desert’ lost two valuable points on account of last-minute mistakes, they should not lose hope and concentrate fully on the next game against Ukraine.
A bit of homework needs to be done, in defence, and a change in lineup is suggested here and there, preferrably shilhoub should start … and if Sami recovers fully , should be paired with Yasser upfront..
hope more better performance coupled with even better result against Ukraine INSHALLAH.

Hey Saudi fans! Good game! I’ve been having some trouble getting a highlights for that game! I went to the FIFA website but apparently the video isn’t available in my region or area!! So if you know where I can get a good highlight of the goals that’ll be much appreciated!

I actually supported the Saudi team this time because my parents just moved to Saudi. May as well support the new home team, eh? :D

I feel gutted, I thought Saudi were going to win when Al Jaber scored. It would have been great.

Although England is my 1st team I lived in Saudi Arabia - Riyadh for almost 5 years and so Saudi are my second team. I was young and growing up there, I played football in the RYSA and went to a few Saudi matches at the King Fahd Stadium…the team has change alot since then but good to see Sami still going. Lets hope they can manage at draw at least against Ukraine.

Im a Tunisian, and i also have to admit that the saudi’s played better. This was the worst match for tunisia for the last 2-3years. Tunisia can do much better then this. I think it has to do with the abcense of Dos santos and the frustration. I am very disapointed!

Nshallah Tunisia AND saudi arabie qualify, it will be very hard buth everything is possible!

saudi team playes well but they need to
1. fix the defence
2. give goalkeeper more attintion to strick the ball far

if they really good, we will see what they will do in the next two strong muches

I am a big fan of La Furia Roja, but I hope the Saudis qualify for the next round with Spain. I watched the Saudis’ game with Tunisia live, and wow… I was impressed! Too bad they kinda let their guard down before the referee blew the final whistle, thus the draw. I was gnashing my teeth at that. Oh well…

Anyway, best of luck against the Ukes!

2- the most disappointing moment in my life when tunisia scored the equalizer goal

GOD with you GREEN HAWKS ..and u’ll be qualified to the seconed round inshaaaaaaaaaallah

I feel the saudi’s deserved to win the match!! although our only problem on the feild is confidence. In the first half they played like school boys and could have been embarest again. I hope we start the next game against ukrain with the same tempo as the second half against tunis!

I watched the game with tunisia and was somewhat satisfyed with the result…the saudi team is strong with a well gelled team like al gaber who really seems to be unstoppable…

i hold high hopes for saudi arabia against ukraine for 2 reasons:
1) we are the ‘underdogs’ meaning alot less pressure is felt by our players when compared to what must be felt by the ukraine team as we have already somewhat proved ourselves a force

2) our strikers are unstoppable and our defence inpenitrable…tunisia and therefore any team will only score off our mistakes, with no real attack made by tunisia with success..

i prey and wait for monday, and know deep in my heart that if this saudi team was to win against the seemingly stronger ukraine, there self motivation may take them a long long way..

the saudi team can do it, but the question is how hungry for victory are they really?

and remember our glorious saudi team, you are representing the arabs of the world and the 1.2 billion muslims r behind you in your struggle. Us supporters, plz all say a preyer and cheer like you have never cheered before for our saudi team.

GO DA SAUDIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ya allah, grant them victory and progression into the next round…INSHALLAH!
